Message from the Chair
The Business department offers undergraduate majors in Business Management -- with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and General Business -- and Management Information Systems. In addition, we offer the business minor and several certificate programs at the undergraduate level and the MBA program at the graduate level.
Student learning and their success in the business world are at the core of our mission. Our highly qualified faculty strives for excellence in the classroom and keeps up with the latest research by publishing in prestigious international journals. Our small class sizes and impressive student/faculty ratios enable us to ensure that every student achieves the stated learning objectives in the classroom.
We understand the constraints of working adults and non-traditional students. Our class schedules and advising efforts are geared towards providing flexibility for such students. For the convenience of busy working adults and non-traditional students, we are expanding our course offerings using alternate forms of delivery including completely online courses. Many of the business foundation courses are now available in the online format, in addition to the traditional face-to-face offerings.
We value experiential learning and provide several opportunities for students to work on projects from multi-national companies in the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor. In recent years, our students have been hired by such prestigious companies as JohnsonDiversey, Northwestern Mutual, Snap-On, SC Johnson, Jockey International, Abbott Labs, Briggs and Stratton, and Harley-Davidson. The quality of our programs is evidenced by the fact that our programs are accredited by AACSB (The Association to Advance the Collegiate Schools of Business). We are the only accredited program in the Kenosha (WI), Racine (WI) and Lake (IL) counties.
