Learning Communities
Learning Communities offer an opportunity for connecting knowledge between disciplines and for enhanced interaction between students and faculty . They are centered on a theme and are usually restricted to a limited number of students (20-30). Students enroll in several of the same core classes and move through their course schedule as a cohort. Learning Communities foster a deeper understanding, integrate diverse classes with each other, and contain a social element that link classroom experiences with rewarding activities.
Learning Communities have been proven to provide a positive impact on student success. Students who participate in Learning Communities benefit in many ways. Students in Learning Communities have:
