Donald Cress Photo Donald Cress
Professor of Philosophy and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. His teaching interests are the history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, and logic/critical thinking. He is editor of a comprehensive microfiche collection of 16th century Latin translations of Greek commentaries on the works of Aristotle. His recent research has focused on medieval and early modern philosophy. In 2006 he published an annotated translation of five of the seven sets of Objections and Replies to the Meditations on First Philosophy, supplementing his earlier translation of the Meditations.

Assistant Professor, received her PhD at the University of Aberdeen.
Research interests: History of Philosophy, especially British Idealism and Scottish Philosophy.
Teaching interests: History of Philosophy, Epistemology, Metaphysics and Feminism & Philosophy.

John Longeway Photo John Longeway
Professor, came to Parkside in 1980. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, specializing in the history of philosophy and logic. He has published work in Medieval philosophy and logic, most recently a book on William of Ockham's philosophy of science, and in philosophy of psychology.

Joe Pearson Photo Joseph Pearson
Senior Lecturer, is with us from Northwestern University, where his PhD is nearly completed. He has done work in philosophy of science, and has expertise in Continental philosophy and Aesthetics as well as the Analytic tradition.

Aaron Snyder Image Aaron Snyder
Emeritus Professor of Philosophy; UW-P [1972-2003]. He received his BA from Princeton [1960], his MA from Harvard [1961] and his PhD from Cornell. Prior to joining UW-P he was an Assistant Professor at UW-Madison and he spent a year as a visiting professor at both Yale Law School [1973-74] and Northwestern University [1984-85]. He has also taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, he is working on moral responsibility and relativism.
