Services

ATM’s (Cash Machines)

There are four ATMs on campus. Two are located in Wyllie Hall, outside the entrance to the library. In addition, there is one ATM located in the Student Center outside Educator's Credit Union located on the D1 level.

Cable TV

Each room in Ranger Hall and each apartment in University Apartments is equipped with universal cable service, but to utilize this service, you will need to supply a standard coaxial cable. Numerous commercial stations are available through the cable system, including ESPN, MTV, The Weather Channel, C-SPAN and CNN, to name a few.

Computer Labs

There is a computer lab in each residence hall. All labs provide access to the Internet, as well as the most popular software and e-mail functions.

Dining

A wide selection of food options is available at UW-Parkside. Sodexo, our partner in University Dining, strives to see that our students' needs are fully met. All students living in the University Residence Halls are required to purchase a dining plan. There are currently four dining plan options to choose from. The Ranger Card is required for access to your dining plan. All dining plan options give our students the choice of eating at the Brickstone Grill and Eatery, Wyllie Market, The Den, Encore and Molinaro Joes's.

Laundry Facilities

Each residence hall features a laundry room which is equipped with washers and dryers that are operated only with a Ranger Card. Each laundry room offers a coin-operated detergent dispensing machine. In addition, each laundry room has a lounge area with a television.

Mail

Each student is assigned a mailbox located in the reception area each hall. Two students are assigned to one mailbox. The mailbox may be opened with the proper combination.

Federal law prohibits the distribution of mail across the counter of the reception desk. When a student receives a package, a notice is placed in the mailbox. This notice should be shown with a University I.D. to claim a package at the reception desk. Students will be asked to sign for packages. No one else may claim a package for a student.

Mail is delivered to and picked up every day except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. To assure proper delivery, mail should be addressed as follows:
1. Student's Name
2. Residence Hall Name
3. Residence Hall Address

Parking

Parking for residence hall students is limited to the Residence Hall Lots. Residence hall students are subject to the parking fees and regulations outlined in the Residence Life Parking Brochure. If in the event that all parking spaces in the Residence Hall Lots are occupied, designated overflow parking is available in either the Union Parking lot or the Communication Arts lot.

Visitors staying longer than 30 minutes should purchase a visitor parking permit for $2.00 per 24 hours time period. Guest parking permits are available through the reception desks . Between the hours of 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM , visitors may park for free in the Union Lot.

Housing students (with a valid housing parking permit) will be allowed to park in the Physical Education and Communications Arts parking lots after 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM Monday through Friday, and from 6:00 AM until 2:00 AM Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

NOTE: All University parking lots (except the Residence Hall lots) are closed to all vehicles between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.

Reception Desk

Each residence hall has a reception desk that is staffed during afternoon and evening hours. This is where you can get your mail, ask questions, and check out a wide variety of tools, games, and equipment. The Ranger Hall reception desk is located on the first floor, and the hours are from 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Friday thru Sunday. The University Apartments reception desk is located in the upper level of the Core Building , and the hours are from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 pm. Monday thru Thursday and from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Friday thru Sunday.

ResNet

Resnet Connection Information

ResNet is the ability for a resident to connect to the Internet through the campus network at a relatively high speed without a phone line. It provides full, round-the-clock access to the Internet and there is no hourly charge for connection, no matter how many hours of connection per month.

In order to make a connection in Ranger Hall or Pike River Suites, you will need to have an Ethernet card installed that has an RJ-45 plug on the back. Ethernet cards are available for purchase through the Residence Life office.

To connect to the network in the University Apartments, you will need to purchase the proper wireless adapter – also available for purchase in the Residence Life Office.

Students will be required to attend a tech fair at the beginning of the semester prior to gaining access to ResNet. At that time, university personnel will verify that you have an up-to-date antivirus program, antispyware software, and window patches.

Telephones

Each apartment, suite and wing is provided with basic telephone service. Basic telephone service includes on-campus calling and local calling in the Kenosha/Racine Area.

Vending Machines

Snack and soda machines are located in each hall. Vending purchases can be made with Ranger Card campus cash or coins.
